Raffaele Paolucci

   Raffaele Paolucci has become with time a landmark in international numismatics, with special regard to the Venetian coinage.

  He is the actor son of an actor father, having been initiated by his father Alvaro, when a boy, in the love and knowledge of coins. He then combined his passion with the systematic study of the wide bibliography in his library and continuous cultural exchanges with other experts and collectors world-wide.

Numismatici Italiani Professionisti    Founder member of the N.I.P., the Italian Society of Professional Numismatists regulating their activities under strict deontologic rules, he is one of the very few Italians admitted, since 1993, to the prestigious I.A.P.N., the International Association of Professional Numismatists gathering the top experts in the field the world all over, and he is member since decades of the Italian Numismatic Society, the Swiss Numismatic Society and the American Numismatic Society as well.

International Association of Professional Numismatists   Supported by a deep human and historical knowledge of his land and people, he devoted himself to the study of the Venetian coinage culminating, after years of work, into the books "The coinage of The Doges of Venice", shortly at his second edition after the fully sold-out first one, and "The mint of Venice", completing the coinage of Venice up to its annexation to Italy in 1866.
  He also extended his research to the Roman coinage of Aquileia, travelling across all Europe to examine the major private and public collections. His work recently resulted into the book "The Roman Imperial Coinage of Aquileia", completely and critically covering such a period and area.

  Besides his activities as a scholar and publisher, Raffaele Paolucci deals in rare and particular coins and is cordially available for valuations, appraisals, photographic certification and authentication of single items or collections, everything with the guarantee of honesty and competence descending from belongings to the cited Societies and a whole life of respected activity.
